Employee Spotlight: MICHAEL TRUMP
Turbo’s new Regional Director of Sales, Parts and Service
Michael Trump has filled many positions at Turbo Terminal Tractors. In early October, Michael began his newest role as Regional Director of Sales, Parts and Service. He will be working with Turbo’s existing customers to grow the outside service and parts segments and secure new business.
“I will immediately begin focusing attention on our customers in the greater Atlanta area, to procure local service work for our shop,” Michael said. “The next step will be to develop a plan to grow our outside service and parts capabilities beyond our dedicated lease fleet. The goal is to grow our outside service capabilities and parts sales nationwide and continue to keep Turbo on the leading edge of terminal tractor parts and service.”
Michael began his career at Turbo in 2012 as a shop technician and on a team that performed complete terminal tractor refurbishments. He then served as a mobile service technician and worked a few peak seasons for our sister company, Syfan Logistics. After a year with another company where he earned valuable dealership experience in fleet leasing, he returned to Turbo in 2018 as Service Manager.
His return coincided with Turbo’s tremendous growth in terminal tractor leasing, making service an important part of what Turbo offered its customers. As the company grew, Michael was promoted to Director of Maintenance over the entire lease fleet.
“My career at Turbo/Syfan has been an absolute treasure,” he said. “It has been a joy to work for a company with a leadership that truly puts God first in all its endeavors. I truly believe that it is this ingredient that makes our recipe for success so potent.”
Working at Turbo is a family affair; his wife, Denyse, serves as Executive Assistant to COO Chris Smith. Denyse and Michael have been married for six years and have two daughters, Everly and Daisy.
FALL MAINTENANCE TIP: CHECK AND MAINTAIN BATTERY HEALTH
Cold weather is right around the corner. It can be tough on batteries, so it’s crucial to be sure they are in good condition.
Test your battery’s charge levels and inspect the connections for any signs of corrosion. Clean any corrosion from the terminals and ensure that all connections are tight. This will help prevent starting issues during colder months.
Additionally, consider having your battery tested by a professional to make sure it has enough cranking amps to perform efficiently during winter.
By keeping your battery in top condition, you can help ensure reliable starts as temperatures drop and avoid downtime.
CELEBRATING GEORGE BELL’S RETIREMENT
We took an evening recently to celebrate the retirement of Regional Sales Director George Bell (red shirt). George helped start Turbo’s terminal tractor leasing program eight years ago and played an important role in our growth. Best wishes to George in his retirement.
